Hi
Multiply.
(a-1/2)(a+2/3)
Using FOIL method:
F First terms a^2
O Outside terms (2/3)a
I Inside terms (-1/2)a
L Last terms (-1/2)(2/3) or -2/6 = -1/3
Note: (2/3)a + (-1/2)a = (4/6)a + (-3/6)a = (1/6)a
(a-1/2)(a+2/3) = a^2 + (1/6)a - 1/3
