The unknown side of the pool is
( Area of pool ) / ( the given side )
Unknown side = +%28+5x%5E2+%2B+31x+%2B+6+%29+%2F+%28+5x+%2B+1+%29+
Basically, they just want to know if you can do this division.
The 1st term in the answer is +x+ and +x%2A%28+5x+%2B+1+%29+=+5x%5E2+%2B+x+
Subtract this from area and I'm left with
+30x+%2B+6+
The 2nd term in the answer is +6+ and +6%2A%28+5x+%2B+1+%29+=+30x+%2B+6+
Subtract this from +30x+%2B+6+ and I have no remainder
So, +%28+5x%5E2+%2B+31x+%2B+6+%29+%2F+%28+5x+%2B+1+%29+=+x+%2B+6++, and
