Question 59596: My question is Problem 78 is definitely not pretty. Your best bet is to use Examples 7 and 8 on pp 311-312 as a model for your solution. It might make life much simpler if you treat the fractions in the x-terms as coefficients.
(x/3 + 3/4)(3x/4 -3/5) (note that these are fractions)

examples 7 and 8 are using the vertical method for polynomials I do not understand i tried to answer this and this is what i got
x + 3 3x - 3
- - x= 4 - - = 3x= 5
3 4 4 5

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(x/3 + 3/4)(3x/4 -3/5)
=x^2/4 -(1/5)x+(9/16)x-(9/20)
=(1/4)x^2+(29/80)x-(9/20)

Stan H.
