Question 58477: Could someone check my work on this problem:
x/(x-2)-2/x
x^2-2(x-2)/(x-2)x
x^2+(-2x-2(-2))/(x-2)x
x^2 + (-2x + 2 * 2)/(x - 2)x
x^2 + (-2x + 4)/(x-2)x
x^2 - 2x + 4/(x-2)x Answer by stanbon(48569) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! x/(x-2)-2/x
The least common multiple is x(x-2)
Write each fraction with the LCM as its denominator.
x^2/LCM - 2(x-2)/LCM
Combine the numerators to get:
(x^2-2x+2)/(x(x-2))
