Question 584023: How do I simplify this
2^2 x^6 y^-5 / 2^4 x^-3 y^-11

Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2^2 x^6 y^-5 / 2^4 x^-3 y^-11
-----
= (4*x^6/y^5) / (16/(x^3*y^11))
-----
Invert the denominator and multiply:
----
= (4*x^6/y^5) * ((x^3*y^11)/16)
-----
= (4/16)(x^9)(y^11/y^5)
----------
= (1/4)x^9y^6
