Question 580207: For all r is not equal to plus or minus 2, (r squared - 5r + 6) over (r squared - 4 = ?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(r^2 - 5r + 6)/(r^2 - 4)

((r-3)(r-2))/(r^2 - 4)

((r-3)(r-2))/((r-2)(r+2))

(r-3)/(r+2)

So (r^2 - 5r + 6)/(r^2 - 4) completely simplifies to (r-3)/(r+2)

In other words, (r^2 - 5r + 6)/(r^2 - 4) = (r-3)/(r+2) for all values of r where r doesn't equal 2 or -2.
