Question 5772: how do u simplify
(-y)5m8/y3m-7 if all numbers are exponents
Answer by longjonsilver(2297) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
first things first...-1 to power 5 is -1*-1*-1*-1*-1 which is -1.
y^5/y^3...division, so subtract powers --> y^2
m^8/m^(-7)...division, so subtract powers --> 8-(-7) -> 8+7 --> 15
so, answer is
jon.
