16x^2-27x-10
Find two numbers whose product is -160 and whose sum is -27.
The numbers are -32 and 5.
Rewrite the trinomial as follows:
=16x^2-32x+5x-10
=16x(x-2)+5(x-2)
=(x-2)(16x+5)

Factoring Trinomials by Trial and Error
16x^2-27x-10
The factors of 16x^2 are:
16x*x, 8x*2x, 4x*4x
Those are the possibilities for the first term in each parenthesis.
The factors of -10 are:
10*-1, -10*1, -5*2, 5*-2 and the reverse order
Those are the possibilities for the second terms in the parenthesis.
Now we try the factor until we find the one that works:
(16x+10)(x-1)=16x^2-16x+10x-10=16x^2-6x-10 ERROR
(16x-10)(x+1)=16x^2+16x-10x-10=16x^2+6x-10 ERROR
(16x-5)(x+2)=16x^2+32x-5x-10=16x^2+27x-10 ERROR
(16x+5)(x-2)=16x^2-32x+5x-10=16x^2-27x-10 Correct this is it!!!!
There are more methodical methods.
Happy Calculating!!!
