In order to add or subtract fractions you must have a common denominator. First factor where you can:
The second fraction has a denominator with a factor of -1, mutliply the numerator and denominator by -1.
The LCD is 2(x-2), whatever you do to the denominators to get that you also have to do to the numerators.
Now you can combine the numerators.
