Question 545757: x = 3/x + 2 solving rational equations and inequalities. Solve equation please.
Answer by IFY(62) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x = 3/x + 2
cross - multiply
x ( x +2 ) = 3
x^2 + 2x = 3
x ^2 + 2x - 3 = 0
x^2 +3x -x -3 = 0
x ( x +3 ) - ( x +3) = 0
(x + 3 ) (x - 1) = 0
x = - 3 or 1
