Question 54255: help me solve (2x-5)squared=4x(x-2)+61
Answer by jainenderkapoor(61)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

(2x - 5)^2 = 4x(x - 2) + 61
4x^2 + 5^2 - 2 *4x * 5 = 4x*x - 4x *2 + 61
4x^2 + 25 - 40x = 4x^2 - 8x + 61
(Striking out 4x^2 from both sides)

25 - 40x = - 8x + 61
Arranging like terms
-40x + 8x = 61 - 25
-32x = 36
x = 36/-32 = -9/8
x = -9/8

I hope that the solution is clear to you.
