Question 509238: how do you factor out 8x^2yz+16xy^2z^2-24xyz^2
Answer by Edwin McCravy(20060)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

8x²yz+16xy²z²-24xyz²

Write it without exponents and only prime numbers:

2*2*2*x*x*y*z + 2*2*2*2*x*y*y*z*z - 2*2*2*3*x*y*z*z

I will color red all the factors that can be taken out:

2*2*2*x*x*y*z + 2*2*2*2*x*y*y*z*z - 2*2*2*3*x*y*z*z

2*2*2*x*y*z(x + 2*y*z - 3*z)

Then multiply the three 2's together, getting 8 and erase
the asterisks for multiplication.

8xyz(x + 2yz - 3z)
