Question 507564: 2- a-15/a+5=a^2-5/a+5
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2- (a-15)/(a+5)=(a^2-5)/(a+5)

2(a+5)-(a-15)=a^2-5

2a+10-a+15=a^2-5

a+25=a^2-5

0=a^2-5-a-25

0=a^2-a-30

0=(a-6)(a+5)

(a-6)(a+5) = 0

a-6 = 0 or a+5 = 0

a = 6 or a = -5

Since a = -5 is not in the domain, the only solution is a = 6
