Question 5034: longjonsilver(633) the queestion to determine the limit of the function at the indicated point, or state, that the function does not exist. Use the algebraic method. for b lim 3x^2-12 divided by x+2 where x arrow -2
is infinity still the answer for this or would it change.
Thank for clearing this up

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
lim%28+x+-%3E+-2%2C+%283x%5E2-12%29%2F%28x%2B2%29%29+
3x%5E2-12+=+3%28x%5E2-4%29+=+3%2A%28x-2%29%2A%28x%2B2%29
3%28x-2%29%2A%28x%2B2%29%2F%28x%2B2%29+=+3%28x-2%29 except in point x=-2 where it is undefined.
this is a simple function with the obvious limit 3((-2)-2) in point -2.
It is simply a straignt line that "misses" one point. It is not a locally infinite curve of any sort.
