Question 492452: Solve
9x^4-18x^2+5=0
If you can just show me how I should do it (as in the formula or the first few steps) that is all I need.

Answer by scott8148(6628)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
this is a quadratic with x^2 as the variable instead of x

9(x^2)^2 - 18(x^2) + 5 = 0

factoring ___ (3x^2 - 1)(3x^2 - 5) = 0

use the quadratic formula on the two factors
