4x%5E2-16 is the difference of two squares.
In general, these will factor as follows:
a%5E2-b%5E2+=+%28a%2Bb%29%28a-b%29 so, in this problem we get:
4x%5E2-16+=+%282x%29%5E2-%284%29%5E2 = %282x%2B4%29%282x-4%29
