Question 471254: Can someone help me with the following problem? It asks to solve and I cannot find my notes on this anywhere nor can I remember how to do this.
(x+14)(x-19)(x+6)>0

Answer by robertb(5830)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The critical numbers are, in increasing order, -14, -6, and 19.
The values of the polynomial in the right side of the inequality are 0, so they are not included in the solution set. Since the critical numbers are all simple roots, the distribution of signs will be
------ 0 ++++++ 0 ------ 0 ++++++
Therefore the solution set is the union of intervals
(-14,-6) U (19, ).
