2x(x+1) = 5(x+7)
2x^2 -3x -35 = 0
factoring
(2x +7)(x-5) = 0
(2x +7)= 0 x = -7/2
(x-5) = 0 x = 5

x = -7/2 -7/(7/2) = 5/(-5/2) = -2
