Question 464243: Solve by factoring:
6t^2 – t – 1 = 0

Answer by algebrahouse.com(1659)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6tē - t - 1 = 0
(3t + 1)(2t - 1) = 0 {factored into two binomials}
3t + 1 = 0 or 2t - 1 = 0 {set each factor equal to 0}
3t = -1 or 2t = 1 {subtracted 1 and added 1, respectively}
t = -1/3 or t = 1/2 {divided by 3 and divided by 2, respectively}
