Think of 2 numbers whose product is 6*7 = 42
and whose sum is -23
---
The numbers are -21 and -2.
---
Replace -23n by -21n-2n and factor.

Factor using Inverse-FOIL:
= 6n^2 -21n-2n + 7
----
Factor the 1st two and the last two terms separately:

= 3n(2n-7)-(2n-7)
---
Factor again:
= (2n-7)(3n-1)
