Question 450507: Could you please help me to solve this problem.The problem -If one zero of a polynomial (b^2+4)x^2+13x+4b is the reciprocal of the other,then find the value of b.I have sent this problem earlier but I didn't got the solution yet.
Answer by sudhanshu_kmr(1152) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let roots are z and 1/z .
product of roots i.e z * 1/z = [ 4b/ (b^2+4)]
solve 1 = 4b/ (b^2+4)
=> b^2 + 4 = 4b
=> b^2 - 4b +4 = 0
=> (b-2)^2 = 0
so, b = 2
