Question 442216: how do i multiply x squared + x-20 over x squared by x over x + 5

To multiply, you just multiply the numerator by the numerator and the denominator by the denominator.
So you get (x^2+x-20)x/x^2(x+5).
Then you need to simplify. Factor the trinomial x^2+x-20.
x^2+x-20 = (x+5)(x-4)
Now substitute in those factors.
(x+5)(x-4)x/x^2(x+5)
Now cancel out factors in the numerator and denominator.
x+5 and x are the factors in the numerator and denominator.
(x-4)/x is the simplified product.
