Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Estimate a safe speed x for a car for a stopping distance of 522 feet. Use the formula below
1/9^2 + 11/3x = 522
A safe speed would be how many feet?
-------------
1/81 + 11x/3 = 522
11x/3 = 42281/81
11x = 42281/27
x = 42281/297
x =~ 142.36
I don't know the units, but it's not feet.
