Hello,
I'll help you with the last one.
sqrt(5x+21)=x+3
First off we can square both sides to
5x+21=(x+3)^2
Expand this out:
5x+21=x^2+6x+9
Subtract 5x and 21 to get:
x^2+x-12=0
Factor
(x-3)(x+4)=0
Solve for x
x=3
x=-4
So we find that 3 works in the equation.
Make sense?
