Question 406747: hi, i have worked this problem out three different ways and still come up with a decimal answer, so i think it is wrong. would you please check it?
(2t+3)/(6)-(t-9)/(4) = 5
i used 12 as the common demoninator and multiplied both side by it
2(2t+3)-3(t-9)=60
4t+6-3t-(27) = 60
37t-3t=60 (like terms)
added 34 to both sides
(37t)/(37t) = t
somewhere i forgot to write out the answer since i rewrote this three times
t - 8.4
i am so lost, would you please help me

Hi
(2t+3)/(6)-(t-9)/(4) = 5
i used 12 as the common demoninator and multiplied both side by it
2(2t+3)-3(t-9)=60
4t+6-3t+(27) = 60 |Good work. However 'watch the signs'
t + 33 = 60 |combining like terms (this is where it went...wrong)
t = 27
CHECKING our Answer***
57/6 - 18/4 = 9.5 - 4.5 = 5
