this particular division results in: 3x^2 -8x +9, R = -35

          3x^2 -8x +9  

        __________________________

2x + 3 | 6x^3   -7x^2 -  6x - 8

      - (6x^3 +  9x^2)

       ---------------

                -16x^2 -  6x

             - (-16x^2 - 24x))

                --------------

                         18x - 8

                      - (18x +27)

                          --------

                              -35
