Hello,
Let's get the same denominator for both of these fractions.
3/x+1 + 2/x-1
First fraction multiply it by (x-1)/(x-1) to get:
3(x-1)/(x^2-1)
Multiply the second by (x+1)/((x+1) to get:
2(x+1)/(x^2-1)
OK, now we can add these to get:
(5x-1)/(x^2-1)
Make sense?
