 Cross Multiplying

 2(1+y) = 3(1-y)

 2 + 2y = 3 - 3y

     5y = 1

      y = 1/5

CHECKING our Answer

 2 * 6/5 = 3*4/5 = 12/5



 Cross Multiplying

 (x+1)(x+1) = (x-2)(x-2)

x^2 + 2x + 1 = x^2 -4x + 4

         6x = 3

          x = 1/2

CHECKING our Answer

 -3/2 / 3/2 = 3/2/-3/2 = -1



 Cross Multiplying

  6(x-2) = 3x(x-2)

 6x -12 = 3x^2 - 6x

 3x^2 -12x + 12 = 0

x^2 - 4x + 4 = 0

(x - 2)(x-2) = 0

(x - 2)= 0

(x - 2) = 0

    x = 2  Solution undefined as zero cannot be a denominator

m = f/a, for a    a = f/m

E/R + r = I, for R   

E/R = I - r

E = R(I-r)

E/(I-r) = R
