Okay, I added, but am having trouble simplifying
...could you please help me?
This is what I have so far...
x² 3x - 70
———————— + —————————
x + 10 x + 10
Since these fraction terms already have the same
denominator, we simply combine their numerators
and write it over this
common denominator:
x² + (3x - 70)
————————————————
(x + 10)
x² + 3x - 70
——————————————
(x + 10)
This is how far you got.
Here's the rest:
Factor the numerator
(x + 10)(x - 7)
—————————————————
(x + 10)
Cancel the (x + 10)'s
1
(x + 10)(x - 7)
—————————————————
(x + 10)
1
x - 7
