Question 379643: Hey! I am a college student who is practicing for her exam by using a study guide. Right now I need help with factoring polynomials. I've tried solving these two problems but im really just guessing. The questions are:
1) 5x + 35 + xy + 7y
2) x^2 + x -56
If someone could help i would be so grateful!! I missed the day when we covered factoring polynomials and have never quite understood it.

1) 5x + 35 + xy + 7y
=5(x+7)+y(x+7) Factoring by grouping.
=(5+y)(x+7)
