Simplify: : (4x+32)/(x^2+9x+8) I am not sure how to answer this question. Having trouble with multiplying and simplying rational expressions. Can you help? Thank you.
Factor out 4 from top: 4(x+8)
Factor bottom, such that addition gives you 9, and multiplication 8, that is number 8 and 1, 8+1=9, 8*1=8, thus, the factors are (x+8) (x+1)
Now we have: 4(x+8)/(x+8) (x+1) cancel out (x+8) since it's in the
numerator and denominator. as a result left with 4/(x+1)
Ans. 4/(x+1)
