Use polynomial long division,

         x^2 + 5x - 15
        __________________________
x + 2 | x^3 + 7x^2 - 5x - 6
      - x^3 + 2x^2
       ---------------------
               5x^2 - 5x - 6
             - 5x^2 + 10x
                --------------
                     -15x - 6
                   - -15x -30
                     ----------
                           24

(x^3+7x^2-5x-6) divided by (x+2)

x^2 + 5x - 15
x + 2 --> x^3 + 7x^2 - 5x - 6
x^3 + 2x^2
5x^2 - 5x
5x^2 -10x
-15x - 6
-15x - 30
24 (remainder of 24/(x + 2))
check:
(x + 2)(x^2 + 5x - 15 + 24/(x + 2))
x^2(x + 2) + 5x(x + 2) - 15(x + 2) + 24/(x + 2) * (x + 2)
x^3 + 2x^2 + 5x^2 + 10x - 15x - 30 + 24
x^3 + 7x^2 - 5x - 6 (same as what we were dividing into)
