What number(s) should be excluded as values of x in the polynomial?
x + 2
-----
x^2-4
:
x values that make the denominator 0 should be excluded
:
x^2 - 4 = 0
Factor the difference of squares
(x-2)(x+2) = 0
x = +2
and
x = -2, should be excluded
