Dear Liz,
When you say "find each value and my book gives me f%282%2F5%29" do you mean that you want to find what f%28x%29=5x%2B1 is when x=2%2F5? Then your answer is
5+%2Ax+%2B1
Replace x with 2/5
It becomes 5%2A%282%2F5%29+%2B1.
%285%2A2%29%2F5+%2B1
10%2F5+%2B1
2%2B1=3
Thus, your answer is 3
