Question 33533: Simplify the expression and write the answer without negative exponents.
(x-3y6)-1)
The x is to the negative 3rd power. The y is to the 6th power. The -1 at the end is to the negative 1st power. I do not know how to make the numbers smaller and go in the upper right corner. Thanks in advance.

the equation can be written as
(x^-3 y^6 )^-1. (^ means to the power )
I've a doubt in ur question ,whether there is a positive r negative sign r nothin between
x & y..
if there is no sign between them it is the product of x&y,
(x^-3 * y^6)^-1
i'll give u a very simple solution and other detailed solution..
the question says to simplify the expression and answer without negative exponents..
1. first simplify the expression within the bracket .
we get,
((1/x^3 )*y^6)^ -1 (x ^ -3 can be written as inverse of x^3 making it positive expo.)
then ,simplify again
=(y^6/x^3)^-1
this is nothing but,the inverse..so the answer is
= (x^3/y^6)
2. ANOTHER SIMPLE SOLUTION IS JUST BRING THE NEGATIVE EXPO -1 INSIDE AND MULTIPLY WITH THE OTHER EXPO. INSIDE TEH BRACKET.
that gives u,
x^3 y^-6
which is nothin but the x^3/y^6.

is the answer.
However, the question stipulates no negative powers, so we need to re-write it as:
jon.
