How do I find the LCD for the given rational expressions, and convert each rational expression into an equivalent rational expression with the LCD as the denominator?
4
---
x - y
and
5x
------
2y-2x
===================
The denominators are (x-y) and -2(x-y)
----
So the LCD is -2(x-y)
====================
Rewrite each fraction with the LCD as its denominator
4/(x-y) = [4*(-2)]/[-2(x-y)]
and
5x/[2y-2x] = [5x]/[-2(x-y)]
================================
