Question 310016: I am suppose to determine whether each exppression is polynomial. Then if so, to classify the polynomial by degree and by number of terms.

I have no idea what I am suppose to do.
For example 3x^2+2x+1
6/x^2 + 2/x - 3

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
classify the polynomial by degree and by number of terms.
--------------------------------------
For example
3x^2+2x+1
It is a polynomial.
degree = 2 ; class: trinomial because it has three terms.
-------------------------
6/x^2 + 2/x - 3
It is not a polynomial because the degree would be -2.
