Question 307941: i need to factor this by grouping and could use some help
(x - 2)(x + 1) = 4

Answer by TX911(36)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First, multiply the two expressions together using the FOIL method: x^2+x-2x-2=4
Now set the equation equal to 0 by subtracting 4 from both sides: x^2+x-2x-6=0
Now we can do some simplifying: x^2-x-6=0

You can factor from here I think but here you go: (x-3)(x+2)
Hope this helps
