x-5/ x+2 =3/7 CROSS MULTIPLY.
7(X-5)=3(X+2) EXPAND THE TERMS.
7X-35=3X+6 COMBINE LKE TERMS.
7X-3X=6+35 DITTO.
4X=41 DIVIDE BY 4
X=41/4 ANS.
PROOF:
[(41/4)-5]/[(41/4+2]=3/7
[(41-5*4)/4]/[(41+2*4)/4]=3/7
[(41-20)/4]/[(41+6)/4]=3/7
21/4*4/35=3/7
21/35=3/7
3/7=3/7
