Question 303847: I am supposed to find a polynomial for the perimeter and for the area of a rectangle. One side is b+5 and the other is b. I found the solutions, but I am confused as to what form they should be written in. Would the perimeter be written P=4b+10 or P=(b+5)^2+b^2?
Would the area be written A=b(b+5) or A=b^2+5b?

Since it asks for a polynomial i would go with the expanded form.
P=4b+10 or P=(b+5)^2+b^2?
I believe you mean 2(b+5)+2b not (b+5)^2+b^2?
A=b(b+5) or A=b^2+5b?
I would use
P=4b+10 and A=b^2+5b
