=(12-10)/z (finding the lcm which is z here)
=2/z
Note: How do we combine two fractions when they are added to
or subtracted from each other?
Find the lcm (least common multile) (if both the fractions have the same dr then that dr is the lcm)
Consider the first fraction. Divide the lcm by dr and get some answer and multiply the corresponding nr with this answer.
Put the sign of the next fraction and continue with the above treatment for the second fraction.
Then the nr is either a sum or difference (according as sum of two fractions or difference of two fractions)and the dr is the lcm
And finally the answer is therefore a single fraction
