How do you simplify:
b/b^2-4 + 2/b^2 - 4

least common denominator: (b^2-4)
-------------------------------------
Combine the numerators over the lcd:

(b+2)/(b^2-4)
---
Factor the denominator:

= (b+2)/[(b+2)(b-2)]
---
= 1/(b-2)
