x^2y^2 - 6xy - 16 = x^2y^2 - 8xy + 2xy - 16 = (x^2y^2 - 8xy) + (2xy - 16) = xy(xy-8) + 2(xy-8) = (xy+2)(xy-8)


Answer: x^2y^2 - 6xy - 16 = (xy+2)(xy-8)
