(8c^3-4c^2+2c)/2c divide all terms in the numerator by 2c.
4c^2-2c+1

c=(2+-sqrt(-2^2-4*4*1])/2*4
c=(2+-sqrt4-16)/8
c=(2+-sqrt-12)/8
c=(2+-3.4641i)/8
c=2/8+-3.4641i/8
c=.25+-.433i ans.
