Question 290066: x^2+(x+2)^2=10^2
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x^2+(x+2)^2=10^2
x^2+x^2+4x+4=100
2x^2+4x+4-100=0
2x^2+4x-96=0
4(x^2+x-48)=0
x=(-1+-sqrt[1^2-4*1*-48])/2*1
x=(-1+-sqrt[1+192])/2
x=(-1+-sqrt193)/2
x=(-1+-13.89)/2
x=12.89/2
x=6.45 ans.
x=(-1-13.89)/2
x=-14.89
x=-7.45 ans.
