Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
[(x-2)/(x-8)]-[1/x] = [(x-7)/x]
------
Multiply thru by x(x-8) to get rid of the denominators:
------
x(x-2) - (x-8) = (x-8)(x-7)
---
x^2 - 2x -x + 8 = x^2-15x+56
--------------------
-3x + 8 = -15x + 56
12x = 48
x = 4
--------------------------------
Cheers,
Stan H.
