Question 288842: I'm in the 8th gread, I have star testing coming up in two weeks and I don't really understand some of the material. My math teacher tells us to study the book, but I don't understand what she means by study it. Do you have any good ways to study a math book? Thanks a bunch.

I was in the 8th grade once but never in the 8th "gread". You are lucky.
Study the book means go over problems and see if you can do them. Especially the problems the teacher went over either in class or for homework.
Start with the material you say you don't understand.

Read the book, but not like you would read a novel. You need to read it slowly and carefully and not read the next sentence until you completely understand the current one. If you get stuck, back up and reread the material. If you just can't "get" something, make a note to ask your teacher and then read on.
Also it's important to do the exercises or things that they leave to the reader to verify.
