A monomial is a polynomial that is not a binomial. A trinomial is a polynomial that is not a binomial. Any polynomial with a different number of terms than 2 is a polynomial that is not a binomial.

poly means more than one.
bi means two
Any polynomial with more than 2 terms is polynomial, but not a binomial.
