Hello,
Let's first remove the fractions by multiplying by 6z. This will give us:
6z^2-24+12z=z Now subtract z from both sides to get:
6z^2+11z-24=0 Now use the quadratic Form to solve:
Plug in the values:
z = (-11 +- sqrt( 121+576))/(12) Simplify to:
z=-11+-sqrt697/12
There you go.

answer 26/5 or 5.2 or 5 1/5
6*(z-4)=z+2
6z-24=z+2
5z=26
z=26/5
