Question 278123: CAN ANYONE HELP ME TO SOLVE THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM?
1/2 + 2/x = 1/3 + 3/x

Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1/2 + 2/x = 1/3 + 3/x
Combine the x terms on the left side & the other terms on the right side.
2/x-3/x=1/3-1/2
Find a common denominator for each side & combine the terms.
(2-3)/x=(2-3)/3*2
-1/x=-1/6
Cross multiply.
-x=-6
x=6 ans.
Proof:
1/2+2/6=1/3+3/6
1/2+1/3=1/3+1/2
(3+2)/6=(3+2)/6
6/6=6/6
1=1
